I recently got hired to cover a Dol (Doljanchi) event.  This is a Korean tradition.  It takes place when a baby reaches his/her first year of age.  I have had the privilege of been invited to 3 of these events.  My favorite part is when the baby has to pick one of several objects which will determine his career path in the future.  Each one of the objects has a particular meaning…  I am always rooting for the pencil!  My second favorite is the hanbok which is a very cute and colorful attire.
