It has been a while since I last posted the las installment of Jessica’s pregnancy belly growth but I have still been documenting it! Once again we see significant progress! It is amazing how Jessica’s little girl is growing so fast!

If you have visited my website in the past you have probably noticed that I did a little re-design to it. I decided to use WordPress to design and maintain my site. I was very impressed with the variety of layouts and plugins that WP offers. I believe that the ease in design will save me time that I can use to create posts and communicate with you. It will also give me time to do what I love the most… taking pictures! I also moved away from Flash design in an effort to provide you with the ability of accessing my galleries from either iPhone or iPad devices. I am really excited about the new design! So go ahead, look around and let me know what you think!!!
I met Sarah thru Devon. As I was browsing Devon’s amazing galleries I discover one modeling portrait session she did of her. I asked Devon if she thought Sarah would be interested in shooting and after the positive response I proceeded to ask her! Planning was a little hard due to work schedules but we finally made it work! We found 2 great spots in San Diego. I love San Diego!!! And San Diego must love me back since we couldn’t have ask for better weather! We started shooting with casual attire at a very nice architectural area then moved to the beach for a small bathing suit session. By the time we got to the beach and setup we roughly had like 30 minutes before sunset, which to me usually means an hour of shooting. The sunset was amazing with a gorgeous cloudy sky! The only thing I could have ask for was for the sun to set a bit slower… so we could have taken more beautiful images!!!!!

I met Amanda thru Devon. She had some modeling experience so I figured it would be a little bit easier to work with her. To my surprise she was also a very talented cheerleader as well! That added to the list of ideas for a possible shoot! We decided to shoot in Irvine since it was convenient for her. We started with a few cheerleading shots and move towards casual attires and finally a gorgeous blue dress! I usually shoot with one off camera flash but I did wanted to experiment with 2 off camera flashes this time. The results were amazing! Amanda and I both agree, our favorite picture of the shoot is the last one on this sequence. This lighting technique will definitely be part of my bag of tricks!!!
I met Devon at an Irvine Smugmug Mini Shootout meeting. She went to that meeting as a photographer and not a few minutes went by and she was already taking pictures of the models and giving them directions! Now what really impressed me was that a few minutes after she was asked to pose and she agreed! In my opinion she did as good if not better than some of the other models! So that’s when I realized that Devon wasn’t just a very talented photographer but a great model as well. So after talking to her for a while we decided to schedule a shoot in Riverside! We decided to set up a fashion theme photo shoot. Devon has a great personality. During the whole shoot we were joking about how we would help each other if one of us became a famous photographer. I recently got hired to cover a Dol (Doljanchi) event. This is a Korean tradition. It takes place when a baby reaches his/her first year of age. I have had the privilege of been invited to 3 of these events. My favorite part is when the baby has to pick one of several objects which will determine his career path in the future. Each one of the objects has a particular meaning… I am always rooting for the pencil! My second favorite is the hanbok which is a very cute and colorful attire.

I have known Jimmy and Diana for several years now. As a matter of fact Jimmy is my future brother in law (not to mention a great friend). Needless to say that when they asked me if I would be interested in taking their Save the Date photos I jumped on the project! The day was a bit to bright at the beginning but as the sun started to set we got really beautiful light. We had a blast that day and the Brazilian food right after was the perfect way to end the day!

This is the 3rd installment of photos documenting Jessica’s pregnancy belly growth. To see week 14 click here and to see week 18 click here. Unlike from week 14 to week 18 week 22 shows significant growth. On a side note Jessica did this cool baby gender release party that I had the privilege to attend. The invitees had to wear a blue shirt if they thought the baby was going to be a boy and a pink shirt if they thought it was going to be a girl. What was cool about it was the way to be revealed! It was with a cake! The interior color of the cake would reveal the gender. Again blue for a boy and pink for a girl. I could tell that Jessica and Daniel were very excited and emotional once it was time to cut the cake! I was pretty confident it was going to be a boy… my girlfriend even got me a new blue shirt for the occasion!! Well, the cake was pink inside… so much for my baby gender prediction abilities! Still I am very excited about it and can’t wait to meet Jessica’s baby girl!

Rejeana has been my friend and coworker for almost 3 years now. If you are familiar with my website or Facebook account you have probably seen some of our work. Recently we have been trying to schedule a shoot but work commitment typically gets in the way. Finally we were able to schedule something last week. We visited a very prestigious university in Los Angeles. The light was great and the architecture was breathtaking! We tried several lighting techniques including flash in a diffuser, backlighting, slow speeds and HDR. I have to give Rejeana a lot of credit… she really knows how to follow direction, she brings ideas to the table and even managed to stat still for the slow speeds and HDR shots!!!
